Just thought I’d post this photograph I took of a steam train:

Dom, our chairman, will be away for Wednesday’s meeting so the meeting will be chaired by the assistant chair Paul Whiteley.

We will be looking again at the design of the web site.  Paul Lalor will bring in his laptop and we will be looking at other club web sites with a view to taking the best from each site and applying them to our own site.

For those who wish to try and upload pictures and are having trouble doing so we would like you to bring in cd’s, memory card or sticks and we will try and demonstrate how to upload a picture.

This one needs some work in the darkroom:

I was asked to put this photo online for club members to see – it is the photo that was awarded a bronze medal at the IPF shield last November. This image was also used in the Daily Mirror calender 2010

All the credit goes to Paul Lalor, as without his work there would have been no entry from the club and so no medal.  He even named the shot so thanks again Paul!

Bryan O’Brien, the Irish Times photo journalist will be paying us a visit and giving us a talk about his career and he will be showing a number of his photographs on the night.

We will be starting this meeting at 8pm sharp but the room will be ready from 7.45 for light refreshments, all are invited for what will be an enjoyable evening.

For members not at the last meeting this month’s theme for photo of the month is “Night shots”.

Any photo for judging should be in on the night of Wednesday, 25th of March.  There is a small monthly prize for the winner and the winning photo along with the other 11 monthly winners will be judged at the end of the year for photo of the year.

The prizes for this have been set at 100 euro for 1st prize 60 euro 2nd prize and 40 euro for 3rd prize .

At the next meeting members will have their last chance to enter in their photos for the panel to judge them for the league.

Bring along all photos for judging and any members who may be looking for advice or a critique are encouraged to seek it.
