Exhibition

Ann-Marie Kelly of midlands radio 3s breakfast show has agreed to open our exhibition on the 23rd of october. Ann-Marie herself is a very good photographer and is a native of Portlaoise She has worked for many years on today fm and then returned back to her roots in the midlands .Its great for the club to have some one like Ann it makes it a special night for all those involved in the club .

Thursday 22nd of October

Between 5.30pm & 6pm we will be moving the exhibition boards from the storage area out the back of the old cinema to the school hall. We will have a large van & trailer on hand for transport but will need plenty of help to load, unload and assemble the boards. All exbibitors will need to be on hand to help. Velcro stickers will be on provided to mount your images but each exhibitor will have to mount them themselves. All images will need to be in place Thursday evening.

Meeting Wednesday 21st October

Final meeting before the exhibition,  at the end of this meeting we will be running the photo of the month competition, theme this month is ‘reflections’, any subject, colour or black & white.

Exhibition mounts

Check out the value in Irish Collectables in Emo, Brian is doing a special deal for the club, A4 mounts in black or cream for €3 each, you’ll probally have to buy them in groups of 4 or 6 but if you look after them you can use them again, when you are there make sure and mention the club. Remember for those exhibiting for the first time we normally use black mounts for colour and cream mounts for black and white images.

Preparing for the exhibition

On Thursday 22nd at 6pm we will be moving all the boards and stands from the storage area at the back of the cinema up to the school hall. We will then be setting up the boards and all members will have to put up their own images. If you can could you bring along a scissors to cut your own strips of double sided velcro stickers. The boards have been painted but may require a light dusting so bring a cloth.

Meeting 7th of October

If you are exhibiting for the first time and wish for a small bit of help or advice why not attend the meeting at 7.30, bring in the images that you are planning to exhibit and have an informal chat with some of the other members who always arive early.

For any one with photos for the exhibition and wanting to know the size of the boards the dimensions in inches is 44 x 45 and in centimetres 112 x 114
