This place is worth a trip, this graveyard was opened in1869 and was used right up to the war of independance. Lots of the old graves are very interesting and worth a few minutes. Sat nav N53  9.160  W6   48.411, bring boots, lots of sheep dropping here, they keep the grass down.

kilmainham gaol feb 10Hi guys went to Kilmainham Gaol to-day, Sun 7th feb, great place for black & white snaps, only €6 for tour, fall behind a little but don’t get lost, the images you get are superb, you wont have time to compose your shot too well so there’s no need for tripod, I put some images on my gallery, all taken on a point & shoot compact. I know I need to work on this image, when I do that I’ll put it into “judge my photo”.

Tonight we have the pleasure of a visit from the IPF prsident Mark Sedewick. Mark will be on hand to give a presentation on what to look for in an image and when you are judging an image or what to look for in your own image when you are preparing for a competition. Mark will talk about “judging an image based on its merits rather than if you like it or not”. Another enjoyable night that is not to be missed by all members. Doors open 7.45pm, talk starts at 8pm sharp.

Tonights meeting will be of great interest to all members, beginners and experienced. Photographer Eddie Mallin will visit the club to give us what will be a memorable nights presentation of Black & White images. Eddie will be on hand to discuss what makes a great black & white image. What to look for and to demonstrate through his images what can work. Tonights presentation is suitable for film & digital users, beginners and experienced. Doors open 7.45pm, meeting starts at 8pm sharp. To view Eddies work check out www.monosnaps.com
