Club Outing 14th July 2010
Posted on July 7th, 2010 No commentsThis months club outing is to Shannon Harbour, meet up at the MDA car park at 7.15pm for car pooling or just wait in Shannon Harbour at just after 8pm, this is of course weather permitting, plenty of subjects to photograph and plenty of time to chat.

Meeting 19th of May 2010
Posted on May 17th, 2010 No commentsOur meeting tonight will have the photo of the month competition, theme, “Wildlife,Flora & Fauna”. Bring in images for the upcoming 2011 calender. To start with we will be looking for images of Laois including the Slieve Bloom, Emo, Haywood Gardens,Rock of Dunamaise, sport, festivals and anything that represents Laois, please make sure that all images have your name on the back and details of the image. Doors open at 7.45pm

Meeting Wed 7th of April
Posted on March 18th, 2010 No commentsTonight we’ll pick the winning image for March’s photo of the month, theme is “still life”, we’ve done a workshop and have spent a lot of time on this subject so dazzle everyone with your image. We’ll do a small work shop talk on using photo shop to get the most of your image pre printing, bring a note pad and pen to take notes. Doors open from 7.45pm

Club Meeting 17th of February
Posted on February 4th, 2010 No commentsTonight we have the pleasure of a visit from the IPF prsident Mark Sedewick. Mark will be on hand to give a presentation on what to look for in an image and when you are judging an image or what to look for in your own image when you are preparing for a competition. Mark will talk about “judging an image based on its merits rather than if you like it or not”. Another enjoyable night that is not to be missed by all members. Doors open 7.45pm, talk starts at 8pm sharp.

Photographer Eddie Mallin will visit the club to give us what will be a memorable nights presentation of Black & White images. Eddie will be on hand to discuss what makes a great black & white image. What to look for and to demonstrate through his images what can work. Tonights presentation is suitable for film & digital users, beginners and experienced. John Hootan Club Outing April 10

As you will see from this photographers images www.john-hootan.com this photographer is in a league of his own. John does ask that those attending have a good working knowledge of their camera.

Club Outing (January)
Posted on January 21st, 2010 No commentsOur first club outing will be to Dublin Bay on Sunday 31st of january. We plan to be there at about half tide, this allows great sunrise images of the skyline in this area. Sunrise is just after 8am, so we’ll need to at the car park at 7.45am.
Bring wellies and a tripod, if possible please bring these items if you have them, nd grad filters & a polarising filter.
If you still feel up to it after the walk on the beach, perhaps breakfast in the city centre and a bit of early morning street photography. You should be back in Mountmellick for lunch.

Club Meeting 27th of January

AGM 2010 (NEW DATE)
Posted on January 1st, 2010 No commentsYes folks it’s that time of year again. Our first meeting of the year will be on Wednesday the 13thof January (NEW DATE WED 20th) in the MDA centre. Due to it being the AGM we need to start at 7.30pm, this a little earlier than normal, we’ll have tea ready just after 7pm.
